THE Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations in Oxfordshire have rece- ived a surge of interest since the deaths of the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret.
Requests for street parties have grown, and organisers of events across the county predict the celebrations will be a huge success.
Rosemary Richards, festival manager for the Oxford Open City Festival, said: "Planning started for some of the events at the end of last year, but following the Queen Mother's death, the perception of these Jubilee celebrations changed."
The city council has received 24 inquiries about street parties, with 11 requests for road closures.
