Adam Warne lives and breathes the new Mini. At work he is a quality engineer at the Mini plant at Cowley, and in his spare time he is competing in the first motorsport series for the Oxford-built Mini Cooper.

The seven-event John Cooper Challenge includes a range of motorsport events from hill climbs and circuit racing to sprints.
The challenge was created by Michael Cooper in memory of his father John, who ran one of the most successful Formula 1 racing teams of the 1950s and 1960s and is probably best known as the father of the Mini Cooper.
The John Cooper Club Sport Minis are modified for racing by John Cooper Works at East Preston, in Sussex, but retain full road legality, enabling them to be driven to the event and raced after a few simple safety modifications.
Just 25 entries have been offered for the inaugural series in 2002, each costing £19,950. This includes a new JCW Club Sport car built to a fixed specification, numbered and exclusive to the challenge; all John Cooper Challenge 2002 entry fees; race training; a dedicated Challenge co-ordinator and JCW technical support.
**Thenext event, the Sutton and Cheam Motor Club sprint, is being held at Abingdon on June 8.
