A decision on a plan to expand a Wallingford nursery school will be delayed for a month.
South Oxfordshire District Council's western area planning committee could not reach an agreement on the scheme and will now visit the site before taking a decision. The Mongewell Park Nursery School, at Elizabeth House, in Reading Road, is the headquarters of Child and Co (Oxford) Ltd, one of the main providers of nursery care in the county.
The company is used by the Government's education watchdog Ofsted to inspect day nurseries and schools.
It wants to build an extension to the house so it can take more children at the nursery school.
Planning officers said in a report that the extension was too big and would detract from the building.
