The body of an elderly woman found floating in a canal at Banbury has still not been identified.
The woman, believed to be in her 70s, was spotted by people on a passing boat who reported the sighting to police.
The canal was closed to boat traffic for three hours while divers recovered the body on Monday.
David Campbell, spokesman for north Oxfordshire police, said yesterday: "Despite appeals on the TV and radio, as well as in the press, so far we haven't had a positive identification at all."
The woman is described as 5ft 3in, slim, with grey, shoulder-length hair and wearing a brown jacket, white blouse, black trousers and a wedding ring.
Anyone with any information should call Banbury CID on 01295 754570.
