Oxford fan Adrian White reports from the Far East

I'VE just got back into my hotel room after the game against Nigeria, and I'm absolutely baked.

I'm sure the heat had an effect on the England players because, let's face it, it was a pretty average performance. All the fans were coming away from the game saying we were rubbish.

Also, we let Nigeria have chances, while we didn't create much ourselves.

Rio Ferdinand was absolutely outstanding, as he's been in all three games, and down the left we looked quite threatening. But I felt we didn't get at them enough.

It was a brilliant shot from Paul Scholes which hit the post, with the keeper making a good save, but there was little else.

All the England fans knew the other game was 0-0 and we knew when Sweden scored because a lot of supporters got messages on their mobiles - and I imagine the England players knew as well because they seemed happy to settle for a draw.

It's good that we got through and absolutely fantastic that we're in the second round and not facing France, which was what everyone thought would happen. We'd certainly have taken that had it been offered to us before the tournament started.

The game with Denmark is a lot further north in Japan so it shouldn't be so humid, and that will suit both European teams better.

I just hope we can get away quicker after the final whistle. The Japanese have organised most things brilliantly, but they're not very good at getting people away from the stadiums.

The congestion after the Nigeria game was horrendous and you get people climbing over fences and doing anything they can just to try to get away.

It's the first time really that we've experienced this heat. Up until now it's been OK, but they have been saying that the rainy season is due to start here at any time. It was very hot and humid today.

We move up to Tokyo now and will have that as a permanent base for the rest of the tournament, however far England get.

And all the games from now on will be fairly accessible from Tokyo. That was the thing about this game against Nigeria in Osaka, it's much further south.

So from the travelling point of view, we're pleased that we're playing Denmark in Niigata. Ireland played one of their games in the afternoon there and their fans were back in Tokyo two or three hours later. Mind you, the trains travel fast here!

Denmark are obviously a useful team. But I think England have got a very good chance of progressing.
