Joe Cotton, from Abingdon, took the Banger racing junior class by storm at Standlake Arena on Sunday (October 6).

With a best placing of only sixth in his previous 15 meetings, 13-year-old Cotton raced to two heat wins and the final.

He becomes only the second junior racer this season to accomplish the treble win at a single meeting.

Following the smash his car was involved in a fortnight ago, Witney racer Matthew Hook's day just got better and better. After taking third and second in the heats, Hook won the Production A Final from Paul Pritchett and Paul Collins.

After more than ten years of racing at the West Oxfordshire track, Chipping Norton's Eric Aldridge was rewarded with his first final win in the Saloon Rod class.

With Daniel Brook's Mark 3 Vauxhall Cavalier trying to find a way past him for most of the race, Aldridge's nerve held as he took his Nissan Bluebird to the chequered flag by the narrowest of margins.

As always, the crashes came fast and furious in the full-contact banger class, with Dave Tustian managing to hold off the challenge of Alan Cartwright to win the final.
