SOUTHERN COUNTIES NORTH: Bicester scored a most unlikely 15-10 victory away to a well-drilled Beaconsfield outfit, who dominated most of the game.

The visitors excelled in confining the home side to a 7-0 half-time advantage, courtesy of a penalty try.

The turning point came ten minutes into the second period, when Beaconsfield flanker James Robinson was sent to the sin bin.

A powerful drive from the Bicester pack set up debutant left wing Rob Roche for a try which Ross Cunningham converted.

Bicester's revival continued with a try straight out of the top drawer from right wing Chad Ward, who left several defenders in his wake before touching down for an unconverted try.

Cunningham missed the conversion, but landed a 35-metre penalty, before Beaconsfield replied with a late converted try.

Witney suffered a disappointing 16-10 defeat away to Slough, in a match when both sides took advantage of some weak refereeing.

Francis Grant kicked an early penalty, but Slough replied with a converted try and a penalty to make it 10-3 at half-time.

Another Slough penalty increased their lead, before Witney responded with a try from full back Luke Hollick after good work from Mike Dunbar and James Lamb.

Witney's afternoon was summed up when the Slough full back lost his footing on a run and fell at the feet of John Williams, who was then sin-binned for ten minutes!
