SOLDIERS have distributed a million litres of aviation fuel to troops fighting a mock war.

A training site at Piddington, near Bicester, was transformed into a distribution centre by troops from 8 Squadron, of 27 Transport Regiment, who were taking part in exercise Log Viper.
Enough water is kept nearby to last 10 minutes and people dealing directly with the fuel containers are trained by the fire brigade.
The exercise was based in a make-believe country called Alba.
An enemy had invaded the former British colony and the Army was called into help. Within 48 hours the squadron was co-ordinating collections and deliveries of fuel.
Major Jonathan Timmis said aviation fuel was used to power both vehicles and aircraft. The idea of having a single fuel is it is much easier to use," he added.
"We've done everything we wanted to do with the soldiers and they are fully trained and ready for next year."
