Later this month, a team of physio assistants at the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Headington, will be on the look out for people using sticks without a rubber ferrule.
Physio assistant Amy Davis said: "The whole point of a stick is that it grips the floor and stops the person using it from falling over."
The physio team will be offering free rubber ends during Ferrule Day, Thursday, October 24, near the League of Friends cafe on Level Two at the JR, between midday and 3pm.
