The new Milton Hill BC green at Milton Heights was officially opened by the two presidents of the Berkshire County Bowling Association at a special ceremony.
The opening was followed by a match in which Milton Hill lost to a team composed of invited players from ten local clubs, who were full of praise for the facilities.
The new synthetic green is the culmination of a two-year mission to keep the club going.
Working closely with Milton Parish Council and Milton United FC, grants were obtained from the Esso Research Centre, Milton Parish Council, Milton Amenity Trust, Vale of White Horse District Council and Landsdown Estates.
Club members also dug into their pockets to fund the £155,000 project.
Milton hope to play throughout the winter on Tuesdays at 2pm. Coaching will be available.
Those interested should either go along to a Tuesday session or call Frank Woods (01235 521072 or Margaret Guthrie (01235 764330).
