Residents in an Oxford suburb are being urged to show off their creative flair by entering this year's Headington Poetry Competition.
The event, which is in its second year, made national headlines last year when retired mechanic Reg Burnley, of Burchester Avenue, Barton, beat author Brian Aldiss, of St Andrew's Road, to first place.
Anyone who lives in Headington can enter for £1. Poems must be on a topic linked to the area. There is also a special category for children, whose entries are free.
Entry forms and rules are available from Time and Elegance Jeweller's, in Windmill Road, or by logging on to www.oxfordbusiness.info/

The closing date is on Friday October 18.
