SIMON Cox was racing back from Budapest to be on stand-by for United today.
United's youth team keeper has been on international duty with the Republic of Ireland Under 19s for two friendly games in Hungary this week. They lost the first one 3-2 and drew the second 1-1.
And with reserve team keeper Ian McCaldon on loan at Chester, Cox was asked to make sure he was back in Oxford this morning, just in case anything happens to No 1 Andy Woodman.
Cox is highly rated by United's management team who were delighted to capture him when he was released by Reading.
