The National Health Service was still in its infancy when Judy Ward started work as a 16-year-old health care assistant.
She entered the profession filled with enthusiasm and a desire to help others.
Times and practices have changed, but not her vision of what care should be.
Her friends and colleagues at the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford bear testimony of her dedication and when she headed home at the end of her final shift, they knew the hospital was losing a treasure. The words of praise were heartfelt and genuine.
However, her example will live on, no matter what further changes take place.
Thank you, Judy.
