Clanfield keeper Martin Waywell foils a Headington effort
Kidlington 3, Almondsbury 3 (aet, Kidlington win 5-3 on pens)
SIMON Grossman was the hero as Division 1 Kidlington upset the formbook by dumping Premier side Almondsbury out of the Supplementary Cup in Saturday's preliminary round tie.
Substitute centre half Grossman came on in the 17th minute as replacement goalkeeper after Vinnie Murphy got his marching orders for bringing down an Almondsbury striker.
And he played a starring role by scoring the equalising goal in extra-time from a free kick - and then making a crucial save in the penalty shoot-out.
The visitors went ahead from the resulting penalty after Murphy's early sending-off, but on 75 minutes, Almondsbury's Banjo Tracker punched a goalbound header from Luke Holden out from under the bar and was also red-carded. Holden despatched the penalty.
Phil Walsh twice put Almondsbury ahead in extra time, but Kidlington hit back through Steve Litten and Grossman, who went up for a free kick and looped a header into the far corner of the net to make it 3-3.
In the shoot-out, Kidlington scored their first four spot kicks through Holden, Litten, Darren Henderson and Leighton James. Grossmann then saved brilliantly from Almondsbury captain Alex Stocken, and it was left to Danny Morris to convert his penalty and seal a memorable victory.
Bicester Tn 2, Didcot Tn 3 (aet)
DIDCOT were pushed all the way before finally overcoming lowly Bicester.
After battling out a 2-2 draw during normal time, Matt Bianchini clinched victory in extra time with his first goal of the season.
Didcot led 1-0 at the break, a neat through ball from Paul Noble releasing in-form striker Ian Concannon.
Bicester levelled through Jason Bedford, before substitute Fletcher Hoey restored the visitors' lead with ten minutes remaining.
Des O'Connor sent the game into extra time, and just as it looked to be going to penalties, Hoey broke forward and found fellow substitute Bianchini, who rattled the ball home via the far post.
Witney Utd 1, Gloucester Utd 3 (aet)
AN entertaining cup tie saw both sides end with nine men as Witney were unlucky to bow out to their Premier Division opponents.
Witney suffered a disastrous three-minute spell when they lost Ricky Dash and Leeyon Phelan through injury and then conceded a goal to Steve Winnan.
A long ball by Steve Lawrence found his brother Dave for Witney's equaliser, but they were fortunate when Ken Howard's 35-yard drive smacked the home crossbar.
With two minutes left, the game exploded as three players were sent off. A bad challenge on Clifford in the Witney goal saw a brawl break out and Steve Lawrence (Witney) and Nick Stockley (Gloucester) were shown red cards.
Within 60 seconds, Witney were reduced to nine after Scott Dash needlessly kicked the ball away having already been booked .
Witney battled hard in extra time but Gloucester's Matt Phillips and Steve Smeeth bagged the crucial goals.
There was still time for one more dismissal when Gloucester's Nick Delves saw red for two bookable offences.
Abingdon Utd 1, Finchampstead 0 (aet)
UNITED were forced to work hard by Division 1 Finchampstead, who always looked capable of causing an upset in this Challenge Cup second-round tie.
The first half was best forgotten as defences dominated, and after the break the same pattern continued.
With 15 minutes left, Abingdon forced three corners in a row which came to nothing, while at the other end, Carl Wilkins pulled off a fine save.
The only goal arrived in extra time when Chris Fontaine headed Finchampstead's goalkick straight back into the path of Frankie Dorrian, who chipped the stranded keeper.
Pewsey Vale 4, Ardley Utd 0
ARDLEY bowed out of the Challenge Cup to their more determined Premier opponents.
The visitors found themselves 2-0 down inside seven minutes and it was 3-0 by the interval.
The second half saw Vale soak up everything Ardley could offer and they added a fourth late on.
Highworth Tn 4, Brackley Tn 3
BRACKLEY lost out in a seven-goal thriller.
Brackley were 2-0 down at the break, Matt Saye putting Highworth ahead and Cleverley making it 2-0 with a sweet left-foot curler.
Cooper scored from the edge of the box to make it 3-0, but Brackley's response was immediate.
Andy Baird headed their first and soon afterwards, the same player was pulled down and Paul Eldridge netted the resultant penalty.
Dabal increased the home side's lead, with Andy Bunney reducing the deficit in the last minute.
Bisley Sports 1, Quarry Nomads 2
QUARRY rode their luck on their way to retaining their unbeaten away record in Division 1 East, keeper Darren Kinch pulling off a string of good saves.
Herbert put Quarry in front with a powerful shot on 15 minutes, but Quarry took their foot off the peddle and only Kinch kept Bisley at bay.
Herbert saw a penalty well-saved by Richard Nash in the Bisley goal, but Justin Ford looked to have killed off the home side with Quarry's second.
Bisley kept going, however, and Cliff Hill's shot somehow found its way through four Quarry defenders on the line.
Hounslow Boro 2, Milton Utd 2
MILTON picked up a useful point at Hounslow thanks to an injury-time own goal.
Tyrone Hunter gave the home side the lead on six minutes and it was not until the 63rd minute that Milton equalised when a Pete Culley corner was netted by substitute Paul Hogg.
Hounslow went ahead with two minutes left through Ian Jones, but deep into injury time, Culley's free-kick took a deflection to earn a deserved point.
Clanfield 0, Headington Am 3
HEADINGTON scored three second-half goals to see off Clanfield in Division 1 West.
The visitors took the lead on 50 minutes when Green scored with a low drive after Clanfield failed to clear following a long throw.
Skipper Evans made it 2-0 20 minutes later after Phillips's effort was cleared off the line, and in the last minute, Cook volleyed home No 3.
