Grove went down to yet another frustratingly narrow defeat on Saturday - 26-24 at home to Wimborne - to leave them struggling at the bottom of the table.
The lead changed hands seven times, but it was Wimborne who scraped home.
The visitors struck first with a converted try, but Grove soon levelled the scores with a coolly-taken try by Ben Dean, converted by Richard Williams.
Grove went in at the break 14-7 ahead after captain and lock Mike Turner burst over for his side's second try, also converted by Williams.
After the interval, Wimborne took a one-point lead, before Grove hit back with another penalty to go in front 17-15, only for Wimborne to counter with another penalty.
Home centre Wayne Coad was next on the scoresheet with a fine try, which Williams converted, but Wimborne struck back with a final, unconverted try from hooker Marcus Atkins, and then sealed the match with another penalty.
A minute's silence was observed before the game as a mark of respect to Grove players John Aldridge (20) and Tom Holmes (39).
Aldridge was killed in a road accident on Sunday, October 20, while Holmes is missing, presumed dead, as a result of the nightclub bombing in Bali.
