Several arrests have been made by Oxford police in connection with drugs offences.

A man in his early twenties was arrested on May 2, on a footpath near Falcon Close, Blackbird Leys, after he was seen acting suspiciously.

He was arrestedby Pc John Batty on suspicion of being an illegal immigrant. A search of the area recovered 37 deals of heroin and crack.

A 36-year-old man was held after he was stopped by traffic officers taking part in Operation Robbery, a crackdown on street crime, in Abingdon Road, Oxford, on May 1.

Twenty-four rocks of what is believed to be cocaine and £1,500, were recovered at the scene.

Five people acting suspiciously were arrested in Samphire Road on May 1, by Dc Ian Wood and Dc Paul Sexton.

Four have been charged. Talecia Holmes, 19, of Magdalen Court, London, was charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply.

She has also been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Clayton MacKenzie, 24, of Allcross Grove, Dulwich; Derron Simms, 19, West Norwood, London; and Frederick Farray, 30, of London, have been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

They will all appear before Oxford Crown Court on May 9.

The fifth person, a man, 22-year-old man, is being held at HM Customs Custody Centre at Heathrow.
