Radley AC men dominated their first-ever competition as a team in the Southern League meeting at Kingston.

Out of 35 events, they had no fewer than 17 first and 16 second placings plus two thirds.

As Radley only become a mixed-sex club in January, this display showed the competitiveness and team spirit of the Radley men as they won the match by 16 points.

Outstanding performances came from Craig Spires in the javelin and discus, while debutant Daniel Pearce won the 400m and high jump.

The day was not without drama either. Steve Wren fell in his first ever 110m hurdles, got up and still finished second in a time of 20.1.

In the 4x100m relay team, they managed to drop the baton, pick it up and still win by half a second.

Bicester's next meeting is at Wimbledon May 31.

Match result: 1 Radley 120pts, 2 Redhill 104, 3 Crawley 68, 4 Chichester 11.
