Gloucester's exciting young winger Marcel Garvey will be the main attraction when England kick off their Under 21 World Cup campaign against Australia at Oxford University's Iffley Road ground on Friday, June 13 (7pm).

GarveyThe 20-year-old sprung to prominence as one of the most exciting talents around, with a hat-trick of tries on his home debut for Gloucester against Bristol Shoguns at the age of 19.

His displays earned him a new two-year deal at Kingsholm, a Zurich Premiership player-of -the-month award and subsequent international call-ups.

This season, he has appeared for Joe Lydon's England A side in games against France and Italy - scoring against the latter - and has been part of the England sevens squad.

Another England player of interest to Oxford rugby fans is Henry Barratt, the NEC Harlequins threequarter.

Born in Oxford, he attended St Edward's School and was selected in last year's under 19 squad and later went on to receive his first representative honours at under 21 level.

Iffley Road certainly has the pick of the opening day programme, in this 12-nation Championship, on Friday when Henley and Newbury will also stage two games.

Holders South Africa start the defence of their title against Ireland at Iffley Road (3pm), with the England game four hours later.

Tickets, which will include both games, are priced at £15 (West Stand) and £10, and at £5 for concessions. Children under 12 get in free.
