In recent years, Oxford's Monday Night Blues has built a name as one of the country's best weekday blues nights.
The sessions at the Bullingdon have attracted huge names from the US, Canada and Europe. Next week, however, the venue brings it all back home, with a set by Oxfordshire funkster LeBurn.
Now a resident of Sunningwell, LeBurn's professional career took off in America in the mid 70s. As the teenage lead guitarist for Atlantic Records artists the Jimmy Castor Bunch, LeBurn opened for stars like Lionel Richie, Bill Withers, Kool & the Gang, Patty LaBelle and John Lee Hooker.
In the 80s he opened for the Wailers, Steel Pulse and Burning Spear.
Now, after years honing his skills and travelling the world, he is one of Oxfordshire's brightest talents.
On Monday he brings his earthy mix of soul, funk, reggae, rock and blues to the Cowley Road venue, for a night of unsurpassed groove and rhythm, along with his cleverly-named band 3rd Degree LeBurn.
If you like James Brown's funk, Sly Stone's soul, and Jimi Hendrix's rock, you are going to love it. Entrance is £5.
