Countryside lovers across South Oxfordshire and the Vale have been urged to have their say about the right to roam.

Draft maps for the Government's plans to open up more countryside to walkers were published by the Countryside Agency in June.

Information roadshows were held in Oxford, Witney and Banbury.

However, most of the proposed access land is in the south of the county.

The county council has made the maps available in Henley and Wantage libraries.

Paul Harris, the county council's strategic countryside access officer, said: "It is crucial that people look at what land has been mapped before the September 30 deadline.

"There is plenty of information available that will help people with having their say."

Maps of South Oxfordshire are on show at the District Council's offices at Crowmarsh and at Henley Library.

The Vale area maps are at the Vale of White Horse District Council's offices in Abbey Close, Abingdon, and at Wantage Library.

The Countryside Agency's mapping helpline on 0845 100 3298 can tell residents which library or office they should visit for their town or village.

Alternatively, the maps can be accessed through the Countryside Agency's website. Log on at: www.countryside.gov.uk
