OXfordshire's under 15s produced an encouraging all-round team display as they finished sixth in the Southern Inter-Counties meeting at Tilsley Park on Sunday (August 24).

There were a string of fine individual performances, with Radley's Lucy Boggis once again stealing the show with two superb victories.

She consistently produced throws in excess of 32 metres in the javelin, winning with 33.82, and was one of only two athletes on the day to break the 12-second barrier in the 75m hurdles - winning the final in 11.77secs.

In the under 15 boys' events, Oxford City's Josh Mulvaney cruised to victory in the 1500m.

Running well within himself, Mulvaney paced the race perfectly to win in 4.17.13 - just a day after turning out for Southampton under 18s football team against Liverpool!

Georgina Hood finished third in the under 15 girls' high jump, clearing 1.59m, while Claire Triggs was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.14, and fifth in the 100m final in 13.5secs.

Alicia Codrington clocked 27.2secs in the final of the 200m, finishing sixth.

Bicester's Adam Clarke was seventh in the under 15 boys' 100m final in 12.29, while Matthew Nathanielz made the final of the 200m, finishing seventh in 25.4.

There was less success in the under 20 men's and women's categories as Oxon fielded a much-weakened team.

However, Natalie Plateau finished an excellent third in the final of the 400m in 57.28secs - quite an achievement as she was up against Christine Ohuruogu, who won bronze in the European Under 20 Championships.

Josephine Rhodes finished fifth in the 1500m, clocking 4.54.46, while Lucy Sutton's throw of 35.44m brought her fourth place in the discus.

In the men's event, the highlight came from Brendan Fisher, whose leap of 6.54m brought him fifth place.
