Thame United boss Mark West will be seeing the FA Cup from the other side of the fence as he takes his side to Ryman League Division 1 South side Egham Town in the preliminary round on Saturday.

The ex-Slough forward, who took over as boss at the start of this season from Andy Sinnott, well remembers his first appearance in the Cup when he was at Wycombe Wanderers.

"That was about 20 years ago, against Colchester, I think. We beat them 2-0 and I got the first goal.

"Everyone likes to play in the FA Cup. We're all looking forward to it. We haven't got past this stage for three years and we're looking to get through a couple of rounds.

"If we beat Egham we could play Matt Le Tissier's team Eastleigh in the next round, which is a big incentive."

Thame welcome back midfielder Kevin Franklin after suspension, but Justin Merritt (knee) is ruled out.

Nando Perna is doubtful with a groin strain, while Ben Freeman is suspended.

Oxford City have received a big boost after Andy Ballard, Justin Lee and Kamran Abbasi declared themselves fit for the visit of Combined Counties Premier side Farnham Town.

Ballard, who is making his first start in the competition, having appeared as substitute as a 16-year-old against Cray Wanderers last season, has recovered from an ankle injury.

He has missed the last three games as have Lee (calf) and Abassi (thigh).

However, they will be without Julian Dark and striker Jamie Charles, who are both at weddings. Rory Jenkins is out with a knee problem.

City boss Paul Lee said: "It's imperative that we do well in the FA Cup, particularly from the point of finances.

"Last year we came unstuck against Cray, and we don't want it to happen to us again. We will give Farnham the respect they deserve."

Midfielder Liam O'Neill is set to shake off an ankle ligament problem in time for Banbury United's long trip to Norfolk to face Eastern Counties Premier outfit Wroxham.

Kevin Brock's side are looking for their first win of the season, having lost three of their first four games.

Brock, who went to watch Wroxham play at King's Lynn, said: "It's not all doom and gloom yet, but it's a massive game for us, and a win would give everyone a lift.

"But it's going to be a tough tie, travelling all that way and then having to play against a really decent side.

"Kevin Stock (who scored a brace in the last round) is going to be a threat, so we'll have to watch him."

Exams

Striker Scott Taylor should be available for the trip, while David Billington returns after missing their 1-0 defeat at Rothwell because he was taking exams.

Also making his managerial debut in the competition is Abingdon Town's assistant manager Gordon Geary, who takes charge of the Ryman League Division 2 side at home to Chichester City United, in the absence of boss Pete Lamont, who is away.

Striker Jon Steadman (hamstring) is a doubt, but Luke Beauchamp is back after suspension. Jason Thomas and Jim Smith return.

Didcot Town could be without four players for their home clash with Eastbourne Town.

Their ex-Oxford United defender Mike Ford (calf), striker Frankie Dorrian (hamstring), Terry Morrisey (ankle) and Grant Goodall (calf) are all doubtful.

Boss Pete Foley said: "We're hoping that Fordy makes it, because having him in the side would be a big boost." Andy Parsons is back from holiday.

North Leigh captain Gary Murphy and the Jackson brothers, Jamie and Marc, are unavailable for the trip to Ryman League Division 1 South club Bromley.

Murphy is at a wedding, while the Jacksons are on a stag weekend. Tom Smith (ankle), Harry Burnley (calf) are doubtful.

Abingdon United will look to put their poor start to the season behind them as they host Seagrave Haulage League side Cove at Northcourt Road.

Goalkeeper Carl Wilkins and defender Ryan Curtin are both suspended, but manager Nobby Hayward includes new signing Kevin McDonnell in the squad.

Carterton Town will be at full strength as they aim for a repeat dose against Fareham Town at Kilkenny Lane.

Five seasons ago, Town beat the Hampshire outfit 2-0 and chairman Bob Taylor said: "We're not firing on all cylinders at the moment, but it would be nice to get a similar result."

Former Wycombe striker Andy Baird is out of Brackley Town's home tie with Suffolk side Harwich & Parkeston. He injured knee ligaments in their against Hullbridge Sports in the last round.

Boss Tim Fowler said: "It's a huge blow, because he's going to miss at least a month. Harwich have reached the first-round proper three times, so it won't be easy."

AFC Wallingford will be without three key players for their trip to Essex Senior League side Sawbridgeworth Town.

Skipper Gary Stevens is sidelined with a calf strain, while Dave Green is out with a groin injury, and Bradley Ward is suspended.
