Egham Tn 1, Thame Utd 8: A Superb hat-trick from Alex Stewart paved the way for an excellent away display at Egham.

After an even first half Thame, who pocketed a cool £1,000 for the victory, moved up a gear, demolishing their Ryman League Division 1 South rivals with a devastating second-half display.

The 8-1 reverse was Egham's biggest home defeat in their history, and the biggest margin of victory in Saturday's FA Cup preliminary round.

Alex Stewart opened the first-half scoring with a stunning 35-yard free kick, only for Egham to equalised when Thame captain James Saulsbury headed into his own net.

Stewart burst through straight from the kick off to re-establish Thame's lead, after the keeper did well to save his initial shot.

Mark Avery headed home Mark Jones's corner in the 52nd minute to further extend Mark West's lead.

Stewart then completed his hat-trick, before Egham were reduced to ten men after Graham Jack was red-carded for hauling down Thame's ex-Oxford City striker John Mitchell.

Defender Jack McKinlay added to Egham's woe with an own goal, before Jon Gardner's superb solo goal made it 6-0.

Thame substitute Ben Freeman then netted after a good team move, with the hard-working Mitchell completed the scoring just before the finish.
