A Kidlington man suffered serious injuries and memory loss in a head-on collision which killed a father.

An inquest heard that Jonathan Penny, 24, was airlifted to hospital after a Porsche collided with his car on the A44 near Little Compton, north of Chippin Norton.

The Porsche driver, Piers Dorian Manville-Hales, 46, from Burmington, near Shipston-on-Stour, died at the scene.

Mr Manville-Hales had just collected his seven-year-old twin sons and a friend's six-year-old daughter from Kitebrook House school, near Chipping Norton.

The children and Mr Penny were airlifted to hospital in Cheltenham.

Sitting at Leamington Town Hall, Warwickshire coroner Michael Coker concluded the accident was caused by Mr Manville-Hales overtaking, before colliding with Mr Penny's Peugeot 306.

Recording a verdict of accidental death, he said a reduced view on the road may have been a factor in the accident.
