It was not until their final outing, that the South Oxfordshire Amateurs scored the first victory of their two-week Western Tour.
Roger Berryman, the veteran Oxford Downs off-spinner, captured six wickets to earn the SOA an 88-run victory over Chagford.
Until then, the SOA, who have been touring the West Country for more than 60 years, had suffered from a lack of penetrative bowling -- and had failed to bowl out a single opposition.
There was no shortage of runs, with Rob Dow scoring two half-centuries in the first week, while Robert Florey and Jim Head also batted consistently.
The SOA are now looking forward to travelling slightly further for their next tour -- they are going to Australia on a fortnight's trip next February.
