Oxford Silver Machine's play-off ambitions face a big test when they take on Wolverhampton in a Sky Sports Elite League clash at the Stadium on Wednesday night (7.45).

Wolves made home advantage count by beating Coventry at Monmore Green on Monday, but the Bees did Oxford a favour when Andreas Jonsson beat Mikael Max in the run-off for the bonus point.

Wolverhamton are now a point ahead of the Silver Machine, but even if Wolves win tonight, it looks as though it will all go down to the final meetings to see who claims the fourth play-off spot.

Massive

After tonight, Wolves travel to Belle Vue, while Oxford are at home to the Aces on September 12.

Oxford, who beat Wolves by 26 points the last time the teams met here in April, will need to be in that kind of form again, if they are to reach the massive target of 55 points to gain the bonus.

Silver Machine promoter Nigel Wagstaff said: "Everybody is aware of the importance of this. It's our biggest meeting of the season. It's one we simply have to win, no question about it."
