Churchgoers solved the puzzle of an Oxfordshire maize maze to help raise money for a much-needed maize grinding machine for a village in Uganda.
Congregation members of Marston United Reformed
Members of Marston United Reformed Church in Oxford tackled the maze at Millet's Farm Centre, Frilford Heath, on August 31, as part of their ongoing efforts to raise £1,500 for the village of Paidha.
Minister the Rev John Wilkinson said: "At the moment the women spend much of their day grinding maize by hand between two stones. It is back-breaking work, and while they are doing that, the women have little time to care for their children or teach them. A grinding machine would help the whole community and transform the lives of about 500 people."
