OXFORD City's Judy McCairns was a member of the English Ladies' B team who won the secondary event at the European Senior Amateur Championships in Germany, for the first time.
Fielding a team of golfers with handicaps of six or more to take on the weaker nations, England qualified for the semi-finals after two rounds of strokeplay.
McCairns fired a second-best score of 81 in her one round and then went on to win her singles match, as England beat Spain 4 -
The England team defeated Italy 3-0 in the final, McCairns not being required to finish her match. She last represented England in 1999, when they were runners-up.
