Organisers are expecting a record turnout at this year's Winter Green Fair in Oxford Town Hall.

Interest in environmental and ethical purchasing is at an all-time high and the Green Fair, which provides a platform for local traders and campaign groups, is attracting more advance bookings than previous years.

The 23rd annual Green fair is taking place on Saturday, December 13, from 10.30am until 4.30pm.

There will be 70 stalls, crafts, music, food and teas served all day. Admission is 50p for adults, 20p OAPs, and children get in free.

Green city councillor Craig Simmons, one of the organising team, said: "At this time of year people are looking for unique gifts which will be both valued and ethical.

"Each year, our bins fill up to overflowing with packaging, unwanted presents and single-use trinkets. People are realising that there are alternatives to our throwaway society. The Green Fair offers an opportunity to make a real difference."
