Tim Henman, who finished his tennis year in great fashion by landing the Paris Open title, took that winning form on to the golf course.

Henman, a four-handicap member of Combe Hill in Surrey, was in the winning team at a celebrity charity day at Frilford Heath.

It was organised by Five Star Events, who raised £2,500 for charity by running a series of golf tournaments during the year.

One of the fund-raising events was a raffle, in which the winners were to play a round of golf with a celebrity.

Henman, who lives in Aston Tirrold, near Didcot, teamed up with 2002 raffle winners Terry Brennan and Martin Broughton and Five Star events' Phil Garner to win the four-strong team event with an impressive best-ball stableford score of 53 points.

The other celebrity on view was former National Hunt champion John Francome, who teamed up with the 2003 raffle winners Chris Panter and Mike Hughes.

The other teams were made up of tournament sponsors and Five Star Events' organiser Richard Pineo, who said: "Both Johnny and Tim were delightful and the whole day went very well."
