East Thurrock 1, Oxford City 2: A late goal from Kevin Lewis saw City record their eighth away win of the season in Ryman Division 1 North on a quagmire of a pitch at East Thurrock on Saturday.

Playing with the wind at their backs, City had an early scare when Andrew Martin's powerful shot took a wicked deflection and went for a corner.

At the other end, Lewis's wind-assisted 30-yarder flew just over.

On 34 minutes, City went ahead when Robin Antonowicz crossed into the area where Jemaine Ferreira got a toe-end to the ball and lifted it over the keeper.

The second half was a case of whether the visitors could hold out against a stronger and more physical side, and with the elements against them.

Home pressure told on 64 minutes when Thurrock pulled level.

A cross from the left found Lee Burns in space and he placed his header wide of Steve Benbow.

City were not finished, however, and in the 86th minute, Kevin Marsden failed to reach his keeper with a back pass, allowing Lewis to nip in and score the winner.
