As a retired post office manager, I am somewhat dismayed at the attitude of our local post office managers over complaints of harassment (Oxford Mail, April 5).

These should have been dealt with immediately and not allowed to fester. The problem is that most of the managers these days have never been postmen and have never faced any of the situations experienced by their staff.

As a manager, I would have nipped this situation in the bud and given the customers the service that they were paying for.
