Banbury United could be without two key players for tonight's Oxfordshire Senior Cup final against Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium.

Top-scorer George Redknap faces a late fitness test on a calf pull after he was clattered to the ground just before half-time during their 4-3 win over Folkestone.

It was thought he had suffered an Achilles problem, but now a leg injury has been diagnosed.

The news is better on midfielder Ollie Stanbridge who has a thigh problem.

Stanbridge, who nearly lost the leg after a serious infection following a challenge during a pre-season game, was hoping to be given the all-clear after last night's training session.

Brock said: "He can play, but he gets a lot of pain. Because of the leg injury he has been carrying himself a bit awkwardly."

Banbury's ex-Oxford United journeyman striker Steve Jenkins, who played in their win over Oxford City, is drafted into the squad as is defender Jon Corbett.

Brock, whose side face an Oxford United side made up of youth team players, said: "It's a great honour for us to be playing there.

"Whatever side they put out, there will be quite a few Oxfordshire lads and they won't want to lose."

Although Banbury face a crucial Dr Martens Eastern Division match at Erith 48 hours later, where a win could seal at least a play-off place for the Premier Division, Brock said he would not be resting anyone.

"We will be puttingout our strongest possible side.

"This game is very important to us. The players are looking forward to playing on a very good surface.

"If we get a good result, that will carry us through on Saturday. My main concern is picking up injuries, but we obviously can't do anything about that."

Brock will be hoping to avoid a repeat of their last appearance in the cup final in 2001 when they lost 2-1 to Thame United after extra-time in the last Senior Cup game to be played at the Manor Ground.

"Jefferson Louis scored the winner from about 60 yards when our keeper Simon Tricker came up for a corner.

"We had about 700 supporters there and there was a great atmosphere.

"I wouldn't be surprised if we brought 1,000 supporters along tonight.

"All our players are up for it and I am sure the Oxford players will be.

"Although we have an important game at Erith, all we are concentrating on is the cup final."

Banbury Utd: from Tricker, Fuller, Sullivan, Allen, Jackson, Stanbridge, Billington, Eldridge, Potter, Redknap, Blossom, Simms, O'Neil, Corbett, Stidder, Jenkins.
