A supermarket worker who stole alcohol and cigarettes worth £700 from his employer has been jailed.
Ian Izzard, 21, of Hill Close, East Challow, was sacked from Sainsbury's in Wantage in October last year after he was caught raiding stock.
He was produce manager at the store, where he had worked for more than four years.
Security was tightened after £800 of cigarettes went missing along with two cases of whisky and two cases of champagne in September.
Izzard, who admitted theft, was captured on CCTV entering the shop at 3.30am on October 14 and de-activating the burglar alarm.
Peter Coombe, defending, told Oxford Crown Court Izzard had experienced a family tragedy and was also under pressure from two men to steal the goods.
Izzard was sentenced to nine months in prison.
