Oxfordshire Cup winners Oxford Harlequins have been drawn away to Worthing, from Sussex, in the qualifying round of next season's Powergen Cup on Saturday, August 28.

Meanwhile, Chinnor beaten by Quins in the final, have been drawn at home to Gloucestershire side Coney Hill.

If they beat Worthing, Quins, who have been included in the London & South East section of the draw, will at home to Andover or St Albans in the preliminary round the following week.

Chinnor would be at home again to Maidenhead or Brixham.

Wallingford's pre-season preparations are in full swing with training sessions taking place every Tuesday and Thursday at The Hithercroft, starting at 7.30pm.

Last season they were third in the Berks, Bucks & Oxon League Division 1 and had an exhilarating run, reaching the last 16 in the national Powergen Junior Shield.

In the coming season, the 1st XV will be competing in the newly-constituted Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier Division, starting with a home game against Drifters on September 4.

The 2nd XV will play in Division D of the Thames Valley Invitation League.

Abingdon stage their 49th annual sevens tournament at Lambrick Way, on Saturday, August 21. It kicks off at noon.
