Abingdon Amblers under 11 girls won their group in the Heart of England Division 2 match in Stourport.

Some fine individual performances from every member of the team saw off strong opposition from eight other clubs, including Leicester and Sparkhill, Birmingham.

Jemma Gregory leapt to 3.42m in the long jump, before confirming her potential with a sparkling run in the 75m in 11.0secs.

Joanna Flint led a quartet of Abingdon runners home in the 600m in 2.14.0, and also ran 12.4 in the 75m.

Becky Turner clocked 2.15.0 in the 600m and leapt 2.59m in the long jump.

Abingdon's non-scoring under 11 girls also did well, with Ellen Barklie recording 2.21 in the 600m and 14.2 in the 75m hurdles, while Ellie Wilkins posted 2.23.2 in the 600m and 15.1 in the 75m.

Under 11 boy Josh Beech set a personal best with 2.06.0 in the 600m and also leapt 3m in the long jump.

Adam Flint recorded 2.74m in the same event.

In the under 15 boys' competition, Craig Teall won the 80m hurdles in 12.70, and then cleared 1.51m to take the high jump.

Steve Copley cruised to victory in the 1500m in 4.51.0.

In the under 17 women's events, Beth Hampson sprinted home to take the 200m in 27.30 and the 80m hurdles in 12.8.

In the field events, Natalie Cranston won the B string javelin with 11.20.

Ollie Berger leapt 4.94m to win the under 17 men's long jump.

In the senior women's competition, Karen Turner continued her fine run of form with personal bests in the 100m (14.7) and 200m (30.98).
