Sir - I spoke to a Royal Mail representative about a month ago when you gave a telephone number for people to call if they had a complaint or concern.

At the time I called, it was to report that we, as well as many other Royal Mail customers, were not getting post delivered for days on end, then getting deliveries on a Sunday afternoon.

I also mentioned that as I was on my way to work one morning at 7.45am, I saw two Royal Mail workers sitting on the kerbside just off Hollow Way, Cowley.

They had tipped all the mail from their bags and were trying to sort through it all as people, on foot and in cars, were going past.

I have since received in the post a letter of apology, plus a book of 12 first-class postage stamps as a goodwill gesture.

Although it is good to know that my phone call was passed on to those responsible, there was no mention in the letter about the two people sitting at the kerbside with at least two bags of mail scattered around them.

My husband has also noted that the postal workers, who deliver in this area lately, don't seem to have a clue where they are.

They are loaded down with so much mail that they seem totally bewildered as to where it should go.

We had a postal delivery during last week and it took the postal worker three visits to our door to deliver four pieces of post. It looks to me as if the problems of Royal Mail deliveries are far from over.
