Customers have congratulated a Bicester pub for banning smoking - and so far there has only been one complaint.
One month after The Acorn Hungry Horse, in Pingle Drive, introduced a complete ban inside the pub, managers Simon Jerrison and Rachael Whalley said it was going well.
Ms Whalley, who is a smoker, said: "We have a comments book by the till and it has maybe one or two complaints out of 60 entries. Most were compliments like 'It's great to breathe fresh air' and 'No smoking is brilliant'."
She said the pub/rest- aurant had continued to be busy and she could not tell if overall trade was down, because the good weather meant people could sit outside and smoke.
But she said: "We have a lot more ladies coming in with children and the staff love it even though most of them smoke.
"It's so much nicer not to work in it or to come down in the morning and not smell stale smoke."
The pub became the first in the town to introduce a complete smoking ban and also received a National Clean Air Award from the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation for its commitment to prohibiting smoking.
The Acorn Hungry Horse was the third Greene King pub in the country to ban smoking and was quickly followed by the Cromwell Lodge Hotel in Banbury.
Since then Greene King has introduced partial smoking bans at most of its pubs and claims that they are as full as ever.
