Experience triumphed over youth as 48-year-old Andy Sutton beat Darren Drew in a dramatic play-off to become Studley Wood's club champion for the first time.

Both Sutton and promising youngster Drew carded a two-round total of 153.

In the four hole play-off up the first and second holes and then back down the 17th and18th, Sutton started par, birdie to Drew's two bogeys.

Sutton dropped a shot on the 17th to hold a two-shot advantage going down the par-five last.

Drew needed to chip in from around 15 feet to take it to sudden death, but he shaved the hole leaving Sutton two putts from around 12 feet to become the champion.

Sutton said afterwards that he felt that at his age, it was possibly his last chance to win the title

Chris Cassettari, who is just 14, took the Handicap Trophy with a nett score of 137, three shots clear of joint runners-up Terry Amos, Peter Hopcroft and his father, Andy Cassettari.
