Oxfordshire girls won the Stableford Foursomes Trophy, the Plate competition at Junior County Week for the third successive year.

Oxon completed a notable hat-trick with a three-points victory over Hampshire at Redbourne GC, Hertfordshire.

With the best three scores counting, Lauren Jupp, an 11-handicapper from Studley Wood, and Vicky Shepherd, who plays off 23 at Carswell, led the way for Oxon with 42 points.

Captain Sam Round, a four-handicapper from Tadmarton, and Lauren East, who plays off 26 at North Oxford, notched up 40 points.

And Giverny Porter, a seven-handicapper from, Chipping Norton, and Sophie Purcell-Smith, who plays off 25 at Frilford, recorded 33 points.

Oxon's team was completed by Clare Reynolds, a 15-handicapper from Chipping Norton, and Anna Nash, who plays off 18 at Banbury. They posted 29 points.

Oxon triumphed with 115 points, pipping Hampshire with 112, followed by Herts and Berks, both with 98, and Bucks on 97.

In the main competition, Oxon played three days of singles match play, off scratch, against the other counties in their South-East Division 1.

Unlike Bucks, Hants and Herts, Oxfordshire weren't able to put out a full team of single figure handicaps, but the girls turned in some gutsy performances.

Round won three out of her four matches and halved the other.

She beat Clara Leathers (Bucks) 4 & 2, Charlies Douglas (Herts) 3 & 1, Emily Heath (Berks) 3 & 1 and halved with Kate Thompson (Hants).

Reynolds, who received the Boddington Cup as Oxfordshire's most-improved player, put up a fine effort to only go down to Bucks's Stephanie Gough, a five-handicapper, on the 18th.

Giverny beat Harriet Kay (Herts) 4 & 2 and Olivia Higgins (Hants) 3 & 2, but lost to Nicole Whitmore (Bucks) 4 & 3 and Jessica Florey (Berks) 2 & 1.

Jupp beat Avril Smidt (Berks) 2 & 1, and halved with Sarah Malsden (Herts).

Match results Oxon 1, Bucks 6; Oxon 2, Herts 4; Oxon 1, Hants 5; Oxon 3, Berks 4.
