FA Vase - East Preston 0, Didcot Tn 4

Stuart Beavon hit a hat-trick as Didcot Town brushed aside Sussex League side East Preston in the second round.

Beavon fired the Railwaymen into a third-minute lead when he latched on to a through ball from Jamie Heapy and crashed the ball past East Preston keeper Andy McCarthy.

The Didcot striker then squandered a great chance when McCarthy smothered his shot in a one-on-one situation.

But Beavon doubled Didcot's lead in the 59th minute when Bradley Ward's exquisite pass sent him clear and he beat McCarthy with a fierce drive into the corner.

Concannon sent a diving header whistling over the bar, and then had a goal disallowed before he made it 3-0 in the 81st minute with a tap-in from Glyn Jones's cross.

Six minutes later, Beavon ran on to a through ball before shrugging off the last defender and coolly slotting the ball home to complete his hat-trick.

Lymington Tn 0, Abingdon Tn 1: Rory Jenkins grabbed a last-minute winner to give Abingdon Town victory at Wessex League Division 2 side Lymington.

It looked as if the tie was heading for extra time when keeper Stuart Williamson palmed Joey Beauchamp's curling shot on to the bar in the 84th minute, and Jenkins bundled the rebound into net.

Abingdon, who fielded new signing Gareth Paxton in the heart of defence, had started the game well with Beauchamp firing an early shot just wide.

Williamson then had to be alert to smother the ball at Mark Baker's feet, but otherwise the first half passed without incident.

Lymington had the better chances after the break, with Paul Sims flashing a shot across the face of goal, while Anthony Betterton did well to foil the same player from close range.

Town's keeper also came to his side's rescue after Jenkins had fired them ahead, making an outstanding save to deny Veal in injury time.

Sandhurst Tn 3, Milton Utd 1: Milton turned in another disappointing performance as they crashed out at Seagrave Haulage League Premier Division outfit Sandhurst.

The home side took the lead on the half-hour when Pete Mulvaney's effort slipped through Milton keeper Gareth Walker's grasp and over him into the unguarded net.

Mark Anderson increased Sandhurst's lead on 53 min- utes.

Gary Sutton and Craig Antcliffe came on after 68 minutes for Milton.

And, just five minutes later, a flowing move involving Patrick Malone, Simon Kenny and Antcliffe ended with Gary Sutton beating his marker before firing home from the edge of the box.

Kenny missed the target with a close-range header and Malone fired wide after a superb run as Milton pressed for an equaliser.

But their fate was sealed in the 89th minute when Mulvaney broke clear to slot home his second.

Slimbridge 4, Chipping Norton 0: A poor second-half display saw Chipping Norton go out at GLS Hellenic League rivals Slimbridge.

Chippy, who included James Wilson, their new signing from Tamworth, were indebted in the first half to a point-blank save by Jeremy Winter from Craig Cole, and the woodwork, which denied Ross Casey.

However, Cole broke the stalemate when he fired home from ten yards in the 40th minute, and two goals inside a minute just after half-time effectively ended Chippy's hopes.

Julian Freeman's header made it 2-0 before Chippy defender Chris Stanley fluffed a clearance and Cole netted his second from an acute angle.

Winter then had to leave the field with the recurrence of a leg injury.

Outfield player Anthony Akers, who donned the gloves, could not stop Casey adding Slimbridge's fourth which took a wicked deflection off a defender.

North Leigh's tie at Newbury was postponed due to the weather. It has been rearranged for tomorrow (7.45).
