South League: Rover Oxford demolished a disinterested British Airways side 11-1 with an accomplished display of clinical finishing in their Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Regional league match.

Goals from Daniel Smyth (2), Danny Bleach (2), Greg Horne (2), Richard Beer (3), Rob Lawrence and sweeper Duncan Buckmaster resulted in a crushing victory.

Rover went ahead through Horne after ten minutes, and three goals in a ten-minute spell midway through the half put them in complete control.

British Airways pulled a goal back before half-time.

Rover made it 5-1 two minutes into the second half, killing off any lingering resistance from their opponents.

City of Oxford maintained their unbeaten away record in the Regional league with a 3-1 win at South Bucks, who were promoted last season.

Midway through the first half, a break from Chris Letts found Simon Harrison on the right wing and his cross was met by James Ashbridge, who finished at the second attempt.

City went further ahead three minutes later when Letts and Harrison combined again and the latter fired past an out-of-position keeper.

After another break involving Harrison and Simon Mould, Letts made it three before half-time.

A strong performance from Dave Mould and a couple of saves from Phil Pearson restricted South Bucks to a consolation goal from a neat short corner.

Wallingford lost their 100 per cent record in their top-of-the-table Division 2 clash against Harrow.

Harrow's 3-2 win puts them level with Wallingford at the top, with a game in hand.

An error in Wallingford's midfield gifted Harrow possession from which they took the lead.

Minutes later, Wallingford made another crucial error which led to Harrow doubling the advantage as they beat the stranded keeper.

Wallingford were rattled and gave away a short corner, from which Harrow went 3-0 up.

After half-time, Wallingford's John Rees scored from a rebound off the Harrow keeper.

Wallingford were denied a second as the umpire disallowed a Richard Pool effort, before Angus Jones scored Wallingford's second with a well-struck shot.

Abingdon recorded their first home win of the season in Division 2 with a 9-1 thrashing of bottom-of-the-table Tring.

There were hat-tricks from Kev Smith and 16-year-old Jonny Taylor, and centre-forward Will Trigg hit his first two league goals of the season.

Smith's treble helped Abingdon to make it 5-1 at half-time.

Trigg scored his side's sixth with a penalty stroke and Chris Way made it seven, before Taylor completed his hat-trick.

With the last touch of the match, Trigg scored his second of the afternoon.
