Thame Utd 0, Ashford Tn 1: Thame faded away after a good start and suffered a disappointing home defeat in their Southern League Division 1 West contest at Windmill Road last night.
The home side had the better chances early on, with John Mitchell and Nando Perna just off target and Jon Gardner forcing a good save from Ashford keeper Paul Burgess.
For the visitors, striker Steve Willmore shot over, before retiring with a knee injury following an accidental collision with Gardner.
The only goal came in the 65th minute, when Scott Todd caught the home defence napping and shot the ball past keeper Steve Smith.
Thame brought on substitute Mike Channon, for his first outing for two months after breaking his cheekbone but rarely looked like scoring and almost conceded a second at the death.
Thame Utd: Smith, Lane, Joyce (Moore 72), Weirich (Foster 72), Avery, Merritt, Gardner, Perna, Mitchell, Wilson, N Stewart (Channon 65). Subs not used: A Stewart, West.
