This season's Glyndebourne on tour at the New Theatre, George Street, Oxford, is the first under the direction of new music director, Edward Gardner.

He will be conducting David McVicar's production of Puccini's masterpiece, La Bohme, which was a big success when it was premiered on the tour in 2000. Michelle Canniccioni will make her Glyndebourne on tour debut in the role of Mim, with Peter Auty, who played Don Jos in Carmen for the 2002 tour, singing the role of her lover, Rodolfo. Adrian Noble's new production of Mozart's The Magic Flute comes to the tour directly from this summer's festival and will mark the Glyndebourne debut of another talented young conductor, Alexander Briger.

This season's repertoire is completed with a revival of Graham Vick's spellbinding production of Debussy's Pellas et Mlisande, with an international line up that includes the French conductor Pascal Roph, American baritone Kevin Greenlaw as Pellas, and Swedish mezzo-soprano Tove Dahlberg as Mlisande.

The tour starts with The Magic Flute on Tuesday (November 30) and Friday (December 3); La Boheme on Wednesday (December 1) and Saturday (December 4) and Palleas et Melisande on Thursday (December 2). Box office on 0870 6063500.
