Abingdon middleweight Jake Guntert bids to round off his first year in the professional ranks with a 100 per cent record when he takes on Peckham journeyman Dean Powell at York Hall, Bethnal Green tonight.

The 21-year-old former national schoolboy finalist has won his first three fights in good style since making his pro debut in May.

He admitted to knowing nothing about his latest opponent, but Powell, 34, has far from impressive credentials.

He has had 14 fights in an eight-year career, losing 11 of them, including the last six.

Guntert said: "To be honest, I am not really bothered who he is because I have got to fight him.

"I don't really worry about my opponent. When I am fighting people who have had 20 fight and 20 wins then I will show more interest in them."

Guntert, who is at his lightest since turning pro, added: "If I can put everything my trainer Alan Smith has taught me into one fight, then I know I will have had a successful year."
