Carterton dream ended by Davies CRAIG Davies was back on the goal trail as Oxford United saw off plucky Carterton Town 2-0 at Court Place Farm last night to book their place in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup semi-finals, where they will face Thame United.
Davies scored at the second attempt, following a break down the left by Danny Morgan, to put the U's one up on 11 minutes.
Terry Merriman's Hellenic League side had two good opportunities as they pressed for an equaliser but Paul Wanless powered through midfield to score a second for United in the 29th minute.
Manager's son Michael Diaz had a shot saved just before the break.
In the second half, Carterton goalkeeper Nick Heritage twice thwarted Morgan with good saves.
Former Sochaux winger Amine Karam showed some classy touches on his debut.
