GLS Hellenic League - Carterton 2, North Leigh 4: North Leigh came out on top in a highly-charged Premier Division clash, despite losing midfield dynamo Joe Burnell with a bad knee injury.

Burnell had to be transported to hospital before half-time.

Carterton opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through James Mortimer-Jones, but North Leigh levelled when Andy McCabe fired low through a crowded goalmouth.

As half-time approached, the visitors scored twice more in quick succession.

First, Liam Hope found an unmarked Mark Lewis at the far post, then Harry Burnley stunned the home side with an unstoppable shot from outside the box for a 3-1 interval lead.

Substitute Tom Perry headed in to reduce Carterton's arrears 15 minutes from time, but North Leigh's Adam Hamp had the final word when he rounded Carterton keeper Nick Heritage for their fourth.

Abingdon United 1, Hungerford Town 0: Abingdon held the upper hand during the first half but had to wait until the 35th minute before scoring the only goal of the game.

It came from a corner that the visitors failed to clear. Following some head tennis in the six-yard box, Micheas Herbert headed into the net from two yards out.

Hungerford came more into the game in the second half, but defences still held the upper hand.

Although he got no reward Lawrence Hoey looked dangerous up front for United with his power and strength.

Slimbridge 2, Ardley United 0: Battling Ardley went down to the leaders, despite dominating the first half.

Alex Feaver went close with two good efforts on goal, but, despite theiir pressure, Ardley created few chances.

In the second half, Slimbridge picked up their game, but John Curtis still had two good efforts to give Ardley the lead.

Then in the 75th minute, a Slimbridge defender raced through the Ardley defence from his own half to set up the first goal. Their second came just before the end.

Chipping Norton Tn 0, Wootton Bassett Tn 0: A brilliant save five minutes from time by former Oxford United keeper Alan Judge earned Chipping Norton a point.

Wootton Bassett's Lee Morse was sent through one-on-one with Judge, but the keeper brought off a super two-handed save.

In a game of few chances, Paul Patel shot over the bar for the visitors.

Chippy introduced new signing Dave Hodgson who had an impressive debut following his move from Malvern Town.

Tuffley Rovers 1, Didcot Town 3: Holders Didcot moved a step closer to retaining the League Cup with a comfortable quarter-final win.

In-form Paul Powell opened the scoring with a terrific shot from outside the box.

Tuffley's persistence paid off with the equaliser just before the half-hour mark, as the unmarked Mark Paterson scored following a corner.

Didcot regained the lead when Ian Concannon's cross was majestically headed home by Stuart Beavon

Tuffley played their part in an entertaining second half before Didcot sub Bradley Ward made the game safe when he converted debutant Danny Allen's pinpoint cross with almost the last kick of the game.
