Rock legend Joe Cocker will head the line-up on the first day of this year's Cornbury Fest- ival.

The festival, in the spectacular grounds of historic Cornbury Park, near Charlbury, on July 9 and 10, will mark the first festival appearance for more than 20 years by Cocker, whose classic rendition of With A Little Help From My Friends provided one of the most memorable moments at the 1969 Woodstock Festival.

In a career spanning more than 40 years, he has topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic and is widely recognised as one of the finest white soul singers of his generation.

Among the other major artists confirmed for Cornbury 2005 are Bonnie Tyler, Lucie Silvas, Humphrey Lyttelton and the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.

They join Elvis Costello and the Imposters, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel and Amy Winehouse.

Welsh rocker and former Grammy nominee Bonnie Tyler will be making a rare live appearance in the UK and her only one this year.

Best remembered for the classic ballad Total Eclipse Of The Heart, which reached number one in the UK and the USA, and It's A Heartache, which sold more than six million copies worldwide, her distinctive husky voice has been described by iconic producer Jim Steinman as "probably one of the most passionate voices I have ever heard in rock and roll".

Lucie Silvas was one of the hottest new young talents to emerge from the last year. even before her recent appearance on Parkinson.

The 24-year-old singer/songwriter is now making an impact as a performer in her own right with her critically acclaimed album Breathe In.
