Oxford Hawks continued their good run of results with a 4-2 win at home to Maidenhead in South League Division 2.

Playing excellent hockey, Hawks took the lead after 15 minutes when a free hit at the top of the area was played through by Henri Coles to Emma Batten who deflected the ball into the corner of the net.

After Maidenhead equalised, Hawks upped a gear, earning numerous short corners thanks to Kelly Fogden. From one of these, Coles slipped the ball left to Wendy Gundry who fired past the keeper's right foot.

Maidenhead soon levelled again, but Hawks regained the lead right after the break, with Gundry and Kathryn Spencer setting up Mandy Borrett to score

Thanks to a superb goalline clearance from Anna Sargent, Hawks stayed ahead before Batten completed the scoring to take Hawks into fourth spot.

Kirsty Brammer scored for City of Oxford as they went down 2-1 at home to Wycombe Rye in the Premier Division of the Trysports Three Counties League.

Abingdon continued their good form in Trysports League Division 2 with a 4-2 win over City of Oxford 2nd.

Goals came from Vicki Baxter, Katie White, Olivia King and Ellen Drake, while Baker and Haynes replied for City.

After two losses, Abingdon Pilgrims slammed Wallingford 2a 9-0 in their biggest win in Division 3. Captain Claire Mellor led the way with two goals.
