Vandals have caused more than £1,000 of damage by snapping trees lining a footpath next to a school.
Ten trees along a pathway, recently named Town Walk East, next to Longfields School, Bicester, were attacked by hooligans on the night of April 3.
It was the second time in less than a year that plants along the path, which runs from the town centre to Glory Farm and Launton Meadows, have been targeted. Last June, the hedge was damaged.
Bicester town councillor John Cozens, pictured, said: "There must be 10 mature trees just snapped off."
He said the tree trunks were two to three inches thick, and he hoped they could be saved.
Mr Cozens, who represents the east ward, said: "Each tree cost about £80 plus labour to plant it and it comes out of the council tax."
In separate incidents, a climbing plant was ripped from a wall in Nuffield Close, and on April 3, two girls were seen carrying a tin of paint, which was later smeared on a seat in Graham Road.
